In this post, I’ll tell you 7 Best Budget Gaming Monitors under $100 in 2021.
If you are passionate in gaming but don’t have much money left to buy a great gaming monitor.
Then, I guarantee you that after reading this article you would be able to buy a great gaming monitor even with your tiny budget.
So, without any further delay, let’s straight jump into it.
How we have decided this order?
You might be thinking that on which criteria we have decided this order, which monitor should be given first position and which should be given last?
Let me tell you,
In this budget of $100 you won’t get a bucket of features for sure and no gaming monitor in this range is absolutely perfect.
So, due to this reason we selected three main criteria in order to put this scattered list into an order.
The three criteria are:
- Response time.
- Panel Type.
- Refresh Rate.
We have taken account of other characteristics as well such as VESA mount compatibility, ports, gaming features etc.
But the main criteria of this order are mainly based on the three factors given above.

How to Buy a Gaming Monitor Under $100?
Here are some factors that you should consider before buying a gaming monitor under 100$.
Check it out>>> 11 Similar Games like GTA 5 [New Checklist 2021]!
1. Your Main Purpose
First before buying a gaming monitor (even a monitor!) you have to think the main purpose why you are buying a $100 monitor for you?
Is it for gaming, content creation or general office work.
If you are buying a monitor for gaming then I would prefer you to either go for LG 22MN430M-B 22” or AOC 22V2H.
For content creation work you can either go for LG 22MN430M-B 22” or Acer SB220Q.
At last if you are buying a monitor for general office work or an entry level gaming then you can go for Sceptre E248W-19203R 24″.
2. Display Panels
In monitor’s you get three types of display panels which are:
- In-plane Switching (IPS).
- Twisted Nematic (TN).
- Vertical Alignment (VA).
IPS panel gives you best color accuracy and reproduction. It also provides you with the best viewing angles.
However, you won’t get a blazing fast response time and refresh rate like TN panel monitors in it.
TN panel is best for those who solely wants to do gaming on their gaming PC because it provides you lower response time and higher refresh rates.
However, you will get one of the worst color reproduction and viewing angles with this panel.
VA panel has got the features from both the world combined as it offers decent color reproduction along with decent refresh rate.
However, there is one issue in this type of panel which is its high response time which is not good for gaming.
I personally prefer the IPS panel over the other two because if you have bought a gaming monitor then your sole purpose won’t be just gaming.
Also, even if you just want to do gaming then also you would require a monitor that does a great color reproduction because it makes the gaming visually stunning and more enjoyable.
Resolution is one of the major factor before buying a gaming monitor for yourself because more the resolution more would the crispiness of the picture on the monitor screen.
However, in this range of 100 dollars you won’t get a 2K or 4K monitor but a FHD 1920X1080p monitor.
So, you won’t have to stress a bit on this factor if you are going with the budget of 100 dollars.
4. Screen Size
Monitor Screen size is usually referred to as the distance between the two diagonally opposite ends.
Large monitor screens with lower resolution would give you a shitty picture quality, and you won’t see a major difference on small monitor screens with higher resolution as well.
Here are some accepted rules about the best screen size for each screen resolution:
- Equal to or lower than 26″ – 1080p (FHD)
- between 27″ and 31″ – 1440p (WQHD)
- above 31″ – 2160p (UHD or 4K)
Mostly in this price range of 100 dollars you would get a 22” or 21.5” screen size with FHD 1080p display.
5. Adaptive Sync
Have you experienced a bit of lag, stuttering and screen tearing while gaming which is most likely due to the lack of adaptive sync in your monitors.
However, the stuttering and screen tearing is due to your weak GPU which can’t push to the refresh rate of the monitor.
Adaptive sync reduces the screen tearing and stuttering by adjusting the monitor’s frame rate with your game’s frame rate in real time.
There are two types of adaptive sync in gaming monitor’s:
- G-sync (NVIDIA GPUs)
- Free-sync (AMD GPUs)
Free-sync monitors are much cheaper than G-sync ones so in this price you’ll see gaming monitors with no adaptive sync or with Free-sync.
6. Refresh Rate
Refresh Rate is the number of time your monitor’s panel refreshes in one second. If you have a 60Hz monitor it means that it refreshes 60 times per second.
A higher refresh rate increases the fluidity of the gameplay which gives you a fast paced gaming experience.
It also gives you an edge in competitive games like PUBG, Fortnite etc over your opponents.
In this price range of $100 you would get a 60 to 75Hz of refresh rate gaming monitors.
7. Response Time
Response time of a monitor is defined as the time a pixel takes to go OFF to ON and OFF again.
And it is measured in milliseconds (ms).
Response time is super important in gaming because it increases the responsiveness of the screen and reduce issues like ghosting in monitors.
In this price range you would get a response time of around 4 to 6 ms which is great even if you are playing e-sports.
I know that this factor is not so important like the others that I mentioned above but still we should give some attention to it.
In this price range you would get both monitors with VESA plate and without VESA plate.
VESA plate is used to mount the monitor on the wall and if you want to mount your monitor on the wall then you have to buy the monitor with VESA plate.
9. Gaming Features
When I was researching gaming monitors for this post, I was shell shocked to know that in this range of 100$ there are monitors which have several gaming features in it.
And that is the reason why I have included this point in this buying guide.
It is not necessary that you will have gaming features in the gaming monitors under $100 because some gaming monitors give these features and some not.
Gaming features can be extremely helpful if you want to have an edge over your opponent and to make your gaming experience much easier.
In this list, I have mentioned two gaming monitors which provide gaming features in it:
- LG 22MN430M-B 22”
- Acer SB220Q

The Acer SB220Q is one of the best monitor which you can get under this competitive price range of $100.
It has a 21.5 inches IPS display with 1080p resolution and 4ms response time.
The display of this gaming monitor is best for the upcoming creators who want to do color grading kinda work on their workstation.
Most of the 21.5 inches gaming monitor does a compensation by providing weaker specifications in order to fulfill this display size.
(But not with this one).
You’ll get 21.5 inches IPS display with this gaming monitor which will make your gaming and editing experience visually satisfying.
Also, you will get a 178 degrees viewing angle with this gaming monitor so that you won’t get a shift of color when you view this monitor at different angles.

However, you can’t use the Free sync feature of this gaming monitor.
Not to worry NVIDIA gamers because this monitor has many other great gaming features for you as well.

However, this Philips gaming monitor doesn’t have much gaming features like Acer SB220Q which is the reason of its ranking.
In terms of design and connectivity, it easily beats Acer SB220Q.
This gaming monitor despite being bulky gives you ultra-thin bezel design and also is VESA compatible too.
But it only supports 75mmX75mm pattern.
Most VESA plates has a 100mmX100mm pattern which would cover the ports of this monitor.
So, to make the ports of this monitor free you have to cut the plate in 75mmX75mm pattern.
